JW Marriott debuts two new hotels with spas in India

by Aoife Dowling | 30 Oct 2013

Marriott International’s luxury brand JW Marriott Hotels & Resorts is continuing its expansion in India with the opening of two new hotels, in Bengaluru and New Delhi.

JW Marriott Bengaluru overlooks the 300-acre Cubbon Park and features 297 rooms and suites, including a presidential suite.

The Spa by JW offers six treatment rooms, a heated outdoor pool, a pool bar and cabanas as well as a fitness centre and yoga studio.

There are six different dining options, including wine, antipasti and cocktails at Bar Uno; Tuscan fare at Alba; Indian cuisine at Spice Terrace and baked goods and gourmet products at Bengaluru Baking Company.

Other features include more than 1,000sq m (10,000sq ft) of indoor and outdoor event space.

JW Marriott Hotel New Delhi Aerocity, which has also made its debut, offers 523 guestrooms including a presidential suite.

Located in Aerocity, the area’s emerging upscale business and leisure district, the hotel features the Quan Spa, offering signature spa treatments, a fitness club and an outdoor swimming pool.

There are six restaurants and lounges, including the signature Japanese restaurant Akira Back; patisserie and retail shop Delhi Baking Company; K3, offering North Indian, Cantonese, and Tuscan cuisines; and the JW Lounge, serving cocktails and coffee.

JW Marriott has 62 properties in 24 countries with an additional 30 expected to open by 2016. The brand plans to double its presence in Asia over the next few years with 17 properties currently and another 17 in the pipeline.

“JW Marriott Hotels & Resorts appeals to guests seeking a luxury experience that pairs elegance with approachability, crafted to reflect their own sophistication and desire to excel,” said Rajeev Menon, Marriott International’s area vice president for South Asia & Australia. ”The brand resonates with both our international and domestic guests, and we will continue to strive for excellence across our portfolio as India continues to play an important role in our growth strategy.”
