A range of saunas and spa suites for new Center Parcs village in Woburn

by Aoife Dowling | 06 Jun 2013

Sauna and steam room provider Dalesauna is to start installing a range of spa suites at the new Center Parcs village in Woburn this month in a contract worth more than £1m.

Due to open in spring 2014, Woburn Forest is the fifth Center Parcs village in the UK and will feature a range of accommodation including a 75-room hotel and 625 lodges.

Appointed by contractor ISG, Dalesauna will install 169 pine saunas in all Executive Lodges across the 365-acre site.

Designed to embrace modern family living, the Executive Lodges are being built to an upside down design, with the main living area on the first floor offering guests views across the woodland.

All Executive Lodges will feature one of a pine sauna. The family sized saunas can accommodate up to six people and will incorporate traditional or infrared technology. Unlike conventional saunas which heat the air, an infrared sauna uses infrared heaters to emit infrared light, which is absorbed by the skin.

There will also be spa pods installed in the 16 four-bedroom Exclusive Lodges. The suites will feature a family sized pine sauna, a steam room and a shower with warm amber LED lighting.

Dalesauna has also installed heat experiences at Center Parcs villages in Sherwood Forest, Whinfell, Elvedon and Longleat.
