Khorfakkan Resort and Spa scheme unveiled

Sharjah Investment and Development Authority (Shurooq) has announced plans for the new Khorfakkan Resort and Spa development in Dubai, United Arab Emirates.
Located on Al Suwifa mountain beside a private cove, the scheme is due to open in late 2015 and will feature two concepts - a Fort open to the public and a 170-suite resort for guests. The Fort will be sited on top of the mountain and act as the main entrance point to the resort, which will feature a spa and gym with separated fitness areas for male and female users.
Swimming pools; restaurants; meeting facilities; and a water sports centre are also proposed, along with an outdoor sports and children's club. A spokesperson for the project said: "Inspired by the region's traditional architecture and way of life, it will feature a five-star luxury resort and amenities catering to a discerning audience."
