Hyatt Regency Suzhou debuts with a 'yin yang' restoration spa
Hyatt Hotels Corporation has launched the Hyatt Regency Suzhou, the first in the Chinese province of Jiangsu, in the city of Suzhou renowned for its ancient canals, stone bridges and UNESCO-listed classic gardens.
The first Hyatt hotel in the Chinese province of Jiangsu, is located in the Suzhou Industrial Park, 25 minutes from Shanghai by train. The 355-bedroom Hyatt Regency Suzhou is part of Jinghope Plaza – a mixed use complex that comprises a shopping mall, entertainment venues and two office buildings.
Neighbouring the Jinji Lake and Suzhou Culture and Arts Centre, the hotel features a Yue Spa, which has a philosophy to restore and maintain the natural equilibrium – or ‘yin and yang’ – essential to human wellbeing.
The spa has six private suites plus two reflexology areas, in addition to hydrotherapy facilities such as Roman-style baths and an oversized steamroom.
Traditional Chinese Medicine techniques are on offer, in combination with a choice of aromatherapy oils. A certified Traditional Chinese Medicine doctor and Tai Qi master are on-site for consultations and advice on health.
The hotel also has a 25m indoor swimming pool on the third floor – framed by intricate mosaic artworks featuring scenes of the old Suzhou canals – as well as a 24-hour fitness centre.
The building is a striking 29-storey triangular atrium structure with a glass roof, designed by LTW Designworks, inspired by the city’s gardens.
Within the Hyatt hotel, there are five restaurants and lounges and more than 15,000sq ft (1,394sq m) of meeting and event space.
