Kirkcaldy's new multi-million pound leisure centre is "on target" to open to the public in July 2013, with work on the building's steel structure now having been completed.
Graham Construction is responsible for delivering the project, with B3 Architects acting as lead consultant and joint architects with Cre8 Architecture. Work started earlier this year.
It is anticipated the new Kirkcaldy Leisure Centre - one of three being built as part of Fife Council's £55m Future of Leisure programme - will be completed in May 2013.
Facilities will include a 25m, six-lane swimming pool; a training pool with moveable floor; accessible wet-side changing areas; and a health suite with a sauna and steamroom.
A 60-station fitness suite, an aerobics studio, a four-court sports hall and a children's play area will also be on offer at the centre, which will be run by Fife Sports and Leisure Trust.
Neil Crooks, chair of Fife Council's Kirkcaldy Area Committee, said: "The new building is really taking shape and the construction team are to be congratulated on meeting the challenges of producing this magnificent structure within such a tight building site."
Graham Construction site manager Lewis Wilson added: "The project is gathering pace and we'll soon finish the cladding and roofing for the sports hall, taking the facility one step closer to completion."
