The £8m Queen Elizabeth II Diamond Jubilee Leisure Centre is set to open in at De Montfort University in Leicester later today (30 July).
Facilities include a 25m, six-lane swimming pool; a poolside sauna; an eight-court sports hall; a dance studio; a climbing wall; and a café.
There will also be a 485sq m (5,220sq ft) fitness suite containing more than 100 pieces of cardiovascular, resistance, functional and weights equipment supplied by Technogym.
Leisure specialists S&P Architects are behind the design of the new building, with Morgan Sindall responsible for its construction.
The centre - which was named in honour of The Queen visiting the site earlier this year - will provide a new home for Leicester Neptune and City of Leicester Swimming Clubs.
A two-week period of taster sessions will allow the public, students and staff to experience the facilities, before memberships and drop-in prices are introduced from 13 August.
